Image 9.5 Elliptical Machine Reviews
Much better then the cheap Welso
by Stephen - Portland Oregon on November 10th, 2008
Have used the elliptical for almost a year (odometer just past 200) and have had little problems. It has remained quiet and holds up my 200 lbs 6'2" frame well. It doesn't shift like the cheap Welso machine did. Stride is a little short but I don't hit my knees like I did on the Welso either.
I have had a bad knee for over 10 years and the elliptical makes a great aerobic workout without impact on the knee.
Con: Power adapter is an additional $88. It goes through 4 D size batteries in about 3 months without using the fan.

Picked this up at a Fred Meyer store for 150.00, new and still in the box. Great workouts even at twice the price!
Great for the price

I bought this elliptical at Wal-Mart for $400 and it is fantastic. I worked out on Precor & Sole & Nautilus and I have to say this one is just as good and has great features. The trainer feature is phenomenal and helps out tremendously. I would recommend this elliptical trainer for anyone beginner to advanced. Enjoy!

I snatched this machine up at Walmart--they sold me the floor model ( was up on a shelf, so it didn\'t have people climbing on it, brand new condition, for A HUNDRED DOLLARS. It is incredible----a lot of them clearanced, and marked down, must be a newer model coming in. Don\'t be afraid to ask the managers if the price marked is the best price they can give you---the clearance price was $149.00 and he came down another fifty on it. Awesome machine---cool features keep it interesting and exciting!
Very good machine.

Incredible Value...Almost Perfect

This elliptical trainer rivals many in the $2000 range...and I bought it for less than $400 at Wal-Mart. I travel about two weeks a month and, fortunately, I\'m able to stay at many hotels with excellent fitness facilities. Last year, my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told her I wanted an elliptical trainer...so she went online and started looking for the brands and models I preferred from the hotel fitness centers I had used. Basic models were upwards of $4000, and even ones that I considered pretty mediocre were in the $2000-$2500 range. So, I thought \"maybe next year\". One night we were at Wal-Mart looking for a bicycle helmet and I noticed that they had a couple elliptical machines on a platform in the department. I saw this one (the Image 9.5) for under $400 and began looking for some reason that it was so inexpensive. It looked like a good machine...though maybe not quite as substantial as the $4000 machines I was used to. I thought \"worst case scenario is that I get home, spend an hour assembling it, don\'t like it, and have to take it back for a refund\". However, long story short, that was NOT the case. The machine is great and there\'s nothing about it that is shoddy, unstable or uncomfortable. I have wondered many times since how a machine like this can be built and sold for such a low price. I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase. Now I have no doubt this machine couldn\'t take the pounding of a professional application where it was being used five-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, but in my home fitness room where it\'s being used probably fifteen days a month for an hour a day, it\'s great. I\'ve had it almost a year now and it has performed flawlessly and shows no sign of wear-and-tear. It\'s really smooth and pretty quiet as well. There are quite a few different programs built-in and, though I\'ve never used them, I think there are some online options for using it along with instructional websites. There\'s only one thing about it I find less than the best...my wife is not an experienced elliptical user and has complained that even the lowest level of pedal resistance seems a bit too high for many out-of-shape beginners. So, if you\'re starting from scratch with your exercise regimen this may not be the machine for you. But for anyone at all physically fit or inclined, this is a great investment and a comfortable tool for taking your fitness to the next level.
