Latest reviews for Eclipse Elliptical Machines:
Pro: The unit is well constructed and offers a very smooth elliptical motion I have not found on other rear wheel units. I like the number of programs offered.
Con: The bottom rails for the feet pads did not fit in ‘U’ shaped wheels when it arrived. One side was off by a 1/8th of an inch and the other by about ½ inch. This was due to the lower part of the handle-bars not being parallel to the main post. I had to use a 2x4 to bend out the bars and this put the rails in-line with the wheels. It is manufacturing flaw if you ask me.
This unit has a very short stride (15 inches) to the point where you feel uncomfortable. When exerting the pads you cannot lean forward naturally with out feeling you are over the display and handles are up against you. I remounted the feet pads back as far as possible in hope this would help. This did give a little more comfort but the stride is still short.
Because of the modifications and short stride, I cannot recommend this unit to anyone who is tall or likes the longer-stride.
